「A-Rod」Alex Rodriguez說到做到，前幾天他才對媒體放話說「洋基隊可以打進季後賽」，21日的比賽，洋基與巨人隊陷入苦戰，結果他老兄敲出一發滿貫轟，助球隊以5:1獲勝。
A-Rod這支全壘打破了洋基史上最偉大球員之一Lou Gehrig的聯盟記錄，成為史上最會轟滿貫彈的球員(生涯24轟)，也證明自己是條漢子。
這場「巨基大戰」眾所矚目，洋基隊派出左投「沙胖」CC Sabathia先發，巨人隊則是推出Tim Lincecum掛帥主投。
結果Tim Lincecum率先失分，2局下洋基隊老將Alfonso Soriano先以陽春全壘打首開記錄。
不過巨人隊3局上還以顏色，Brandon Crawford先獲保送，Juan Perez二壘安打建功，雙方戰平。
眼看1:1的僵局一直持續到7局下半，洋基隊再度掌握好機會，Eduardo Nunez安打上壘，Brendan Ryan獲保送，一朗也被送上一壘後。 (接下一頁)
