統一獅隊教練團4日發表重大改組，日籍總教練中島輝士與投手教練紀藤真琴確定將回二軍休息，等待時機再回一軍。
統一獅隊領隊蘇泰安表示：「前一天跟這兩位教練聊過，他們認為壓力大，所以也願意下二軍休息。」
但是打擊教練陳連宏暫接總教練一職，羅國璋教練則是維持原職，加上洋投費古洛擔任代理投手教練，老將高建三幫忙輔助，獅隊是否有機會「轉運」就不得而知。
中島教練曾在輸球時說：「這都是我的責任。」看得出他對整個團隊的用心與負責任的態度。
紀藤教練也在之前下二軍視察，他們也是希望團隊戰績可以有所提升。
獅隊上半季曾經戰績一度好到有機會奪冠，可惜仍遭「新同學」義大犀牛隊逆轉。
