潛逃英國的軍情局中尉葉玫，遭英國政府遣返回國，預計19日下午2時抵達桃園國際機場，葉家委任律師郭德田中午發表三點聲明，強調志願役軍官未設立退場機制，是葉玫遣逃的原因，且因母親年事已高，盼望能回到台灣盡孝道。

郭德田代表葉玫發表三點聲明：一是期望檢察官與法院給她一次改過自新機會；二是國防部隊於志願役軍官未設立退場機制，才是此次事件主因；三是葉玫考慮到母親年事已高，在與律師討論之後，自願返回台灣，希望今年過年，她能與媽媽一起在家度過。

郭德田表示，葉玫不是中華民國的第一個逃兵，但我們希望葉玫是最後的一個逃兵。呼籲國防部應檢討內部措施。
