費城人只要再拿下一勝就可以追平五成勝率，對國民二連勝有機會趁此氣勢乘勝追擊，尤其此役輪值陣中王牌克里夫李先發更顯得勢在必得。

費城人開季戰績欲振乏力，過去總是悲情吞敗的小李飛刀本季勝率卻出奇的好，目前戰績10勝2敗2.73防禦率，131.2局投球出現119次三振只有9次四死球，各項投球數據表現出毫無疑問的塞揚身手，生涯對戰國民6勝3敗2.48防禦率表現不俗，搭配近況不差的打擊表現，費城人的投打數據與主場優勢略顯上風。

連輸兩場的國民今天再以2比4敗北，費城人布朗逐漸扛起四棒重責，加上陣中經驗豐富的老鳥越到季中之後越顯穩定，主場打擊率與平均得分都上修了一些幅度，現在想解決他們並不容易。

國民明天派出去年21勝的岡薩雷茲力求止敗，最近四場先發都獲得勝利，本季也有6勝3敗3.14防禦率的好表現，生涯對戰費城人3勝1敗2.53防禦率，前七局有機會形成投手戰，雙方投手也都有完投能力， 勝負有可能取決於微妙之間，但是後攻的主場永遠比較有利！
