查爾斯成英國三百年來最老太子

英國六十四歲的查爾斯王子，今天正式成為三百年來英國年紀最大的太子。

一七一四年以來，英國原來最老的儲君是一八三零年六月，繼位成為國王的威廉四世。威廉四世登基的時候已經六十四歲十個月又五天大，查爾斯今天滿六十四歲十個月又六天， 超越了威廉四世繼任的年紀。

不過，查爾斯要成為英國史上最老的儲君則得再等上十九年。英國最老儲君「漢諾威的蘇菲亞」八十三歲的時候以儲君的身份過世。他原訂要繼承的前任遠房表妹安妮女王比他晚幾個月才過世。

而等查爾斯八十三歲，他母親伊莉莎白二世女王將高齡一百零六了。
