陳偉殷台灣時間24日凌晨3時10分先發對光芒，這也將是殷仔本季倒數第二場先發，最後一場先發表定是台灣時間29日對紅襪，24日先發不論對金鶯和陳偉殷都相當重要，尤其金鶯在和光芒系列前三戰全敗，如果最後一戰再敗被橫掃，金鶯幾乎和美聯外卡說再見，至於殷仔在整個9月一勝難求，最近一勝就是8月22日對光芒拿勝。

殷仔自對光芒先發7局勝投後，接下來5場先發都未勝，並且防禦率高達7.63，尤其對左打的壓制力完全失效，被打擊率達到3成64，被長打率更達到7成27，這個數字和扣除最近5場先發，本季平均對左打被打擊率2成24極大落差，也造成他最近5場一勝難求。

另一個對金鶯和陳偉殷不利的因素，是金鶯打線陷到極端的乏力，本系列前三戰對光芒，平均打擊率只有1成63，再加上前一個系列對紅襪三戰已僅有1成71，最近12戰輸8場，打擊率才過2成，打擊極度乏力造成目前幾乎輸掉外卡機會的局面。

有利因素是陳偉殷本季對光芒兩先發，取得1勝0敗和防禦率2.84，加上這兩年先發對光芒7場，其中6場失分少於3分；光芒打線對陳偉殷破壞力最大是佐布里斯特(Ben Zobrist)的20支10，包括1發全壘打。
