遠東科大斥資1,600萬，贈送大一新生每人一台宏碁平板電腦，2,300台昨天全部送出，新生都認為，這是中秋節最佳禮物。

遠東科大校長王元仁表示，早在3年前他就構思校園裡到處都可無線上網，學生們如果人手一台小筆電，上課就可以馬上在筆電上做筆記、查資料。過去是送新生小筆電，現在流行平板電腦，更輕便好用。

讀遠東科大有這項福利，很多新生早有耳聞；就讀數位媒體設計與管理系新生簡溱庠說，入學前就聽學長講過，現在實際領到，感覺很不賴。同學許晉綸指出，剛開學，家裡的桌上型電腦還來不及搬上來，有這台平板電腦剛好派上用場。
